OTM Joins YS National Youth Workers Convention

On November 19th, the Olivet Teen Mission members participated in the Youth Specialties National Youth Workers Convention in Memphis, Tennessee.

This was a great opportunity for OTM International to be equipped with the tools needed to expand Teen Mission across the world. During this time, they received training for 4 days. They attended various seminars and conferences where they were able to learn from youth pastors and workers who have been in the field for over 15 years.

"I am so joyful that the Lord has allowed us to attend the NYWC. Through this training, I was greatly encouraged to dream big for teens. I feel much more equipped to train Teen Mission leaders with all the information we learned and also inspire them to also inherit this dream for teens," shared one member.

While in the convention, members focused on the seminars for new workers of youth ministry. There they learned about setting up a strong team of volunteers and how, the first 2 years of youth ministry, and interactive ways to engage teens, such as games and community building.

OTM also attended the seminars for the Middle school track. There they learned about the changes that teens experience in all areas of their lives, how to help parents with the teens and how to develop a relationship with the parents.

May the Lord use everything that they learned powerfully to train other leaders across the world and to raise teens for God's kingdom.

Embracing the Cross: Rediscovering Its True Meaning

In today's modern Western society, the meaning of the cross has often been diluted, distorted, or altogether lost amidst the noise of our fast-paced lives and the distractions of our materialistic culture.
