OA Japan Commemorates Anniversary, to Hold 20th General Assembly

Olivet Assembly Japan leaders and members celebrated their meaningful anniversary on Wednesday on September 27, with festivities headlined by a commemoration sermon. The sermon reminded the important mission of Japan to systematize and teach the Gospel to resolve spiritual famine around the world.

The service was held in the OA General Office building in Tokyo, with sermon title "Think of what you were when you were called" from 1 Corinthians 1 and Ephesians 1.

"Theme of the reason why God has called Japan is being meditated as it greets anniversary. It is to transform this island as the world of the Gospel to preach the Word to the whole world. The Gospel is a perfect truth that has been inherited from the Early church. It cannot be added or subtracted from the original content. We face many situations that challenge the gospel just as the Early Christianity had to confront gnostic schemes. It is imperative to train capable teachers in the midst of those challenges to give clear teaching and explaining of the word. In this regard, Japan can be a great instrument as people of the country are systematic and academic. Everything is organized and created in manuals. When this talent is incorporated in teaching of the Gospel, the nation will play a vital role in gospelizing many countries in Asia as well as the world."

From Sep 28, Eight presbytery leaders across the nation and fellowship representatives will hold leadership conference to discuss setting the strong foundation and actual steps to develop before the annual General Assembly.

Called to Make Disciples in All Nations

In the journey of faith, we often find ourselves eagerly seeking to fulfill the Great Commission, to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth, just as Jesus commanded his disciples. However, in our fervor to carry out this mission, let us not overlook a crucial commandment given by our Lord Himself.
