In addition to UN staff, the summit was also attended by representatives of the Government of Moldova and by representatives of various non-governmental organizations in Moldova. The summit participants discussed the problems of ethnic and racial discrimination in Moldova. In his speech, the President of Olivet Assembly of Eurasia called attention to religious discrimination taking place place in Moldova.
"In Moldova, one Christian denomination (Orthodox Church) takes a totalitarian position in society, all the rest of the churches are aliens in eyes of society. This is reflected in the spiteful relations, humiliation and often even insults from the religious majority. So, I would like to ask the authorities of Moldova to pay attention to this problem and to protect the rights of other Christian denominations to confess their faith and share their faith with other people. I want to ask authorities to put more information about Evangelical churches to the education system," said Rev. Peter Lysenko.
His speech caused a lively discussion about the protection of religious rights in Moldova. One UN staff commented that the topic is very important, as there have been no attention placed on the discrimination against of evangelical Christians in Moldova, but problem is real.
