WOA Conference Discuss Self-Reliance, to Model After the Early Church

WOA

World Olivet Assembly held the second conference with continental and fellowship representatives on agenda of establishing self-reliance, creating a sustainable church or chapter, and the significance it holds to church growth starting from the month of January.

Self-reliance is a fundamental thought that was prevalent among the Early Church. The seven churches of Minor Asia overcame a slew of persecutions, including religious, political, financial, and even internal influences and issues despite the fact that Paul was hardly there after he had planted them. The ability for believers to stand on foundations of faith and rely on God is essential for churches remain sustainable despite transfers of leadership or facing unexpected circumstances. Churches that can be held accountable by own elders and congregants can withstand the harshest environment, and glorify God through the testimonies of their faith.

Even if numbers grow, there will be concerns whether the gathering can be sustainable. When 5000 was gathered, even the disciples worried about how to feed the crowd. The Lord was the one who tested, showed the disciples how 5000 could be fed by relying on God, and taught them how to perform miracles.

In January, all regions have set the goal to implement self-reliance system in all mission fields. Working with KBers International, WOA will seek to establish new financial solutions that can create sustainable churches that can grow in numbers and pass down the proper traditions of faith.

In His Great Commission, Jesus commands us to make disciples-not simply to inspire a single moment of conversion but to lead others into a committed, lifelong walk with Him. As Reformed theologian R.C. Sproul wisely reminds us, "Jesus' lordship encompasses all of life."
