North America to Bolster Spanish Outreach in Urban Mission
OA USA and the North America General Office discussed on June 20 about expanding mission to cities in the United States with a high percentage of Hispanic/Latino inhabitants where Spanish is spoken. The aim this week is to settle the list of cities to focus on.
"May God open the way to evangelize many people with Hispanic heritage who are Spanish speakers in the United States," said an OA staff. "The discussion on Monday enabled OA and NA GO to understand more about the needs involved in expanding mission to Hispanics."
The qualifications and training of those being sent to do mission and their commitment to the work were also discussed. Other topics included possibly establishing a 3 to 6 month time to complete initial goals, systems for receiving missionaries and financial self support.
Opening multiple-language congregations is a recent focus for U.S mission. Please pray that the cities for mission to people with a Hispanic background can be set this week.
