Jubilee Chorus NYC's first performance of the season took place on Saturday, April 23, at the health recovery and rehabilitation center Richmond Center on Staten Island, New York City.

The event began with a flute solo, performed by Shu-Yu Hsiung, followed by a voice solo by soprano and section leader Hillary Schranze. Both soloists were accompanied by pianist Grace Sun.

After the solo performances, all the Jubilee Chorus sang, "Standing in the Need of Prayer," as an opening song.

Soprano Bex De then spoke to the audience, presenting information about Jubilee and the organization's mission.

After Bex's short presentation, the chorus performed three more songs: "You'll Never Walk Alone," by Rodgers and Hammerstein, "Here I Am, Lord," by Dan Schutte, and "I Will Follow Him," from the classic movie "Sister Act."

Jubilee Chorus expressed its gratitude to everyone at the Richmond Center for being such incredible hosts. Not only did they donate their time, they even donated gifts for each singer. Singing at the Richmond Center was a wonderful experience, representatives shared, and they are grateful to have started off the season there.

Jubilee staff Shu-yu shared, "I saw so many smiles on these elders' faces. One of the audience even said that our program was awsome, he wants to listen more. I was grateful to attend the mission event, I knew that God would use our music to show His love to these elders. Thank God for using us to deliver His love."

Called to Make Disciples in All Nations

In His Great Commission, Jesus commands us to make disciples-not simply to inspire a single moment of conversion but to lead others into a committed, lifelong walk with Him. As Reformed theologian R.C. Sproul wisely reminds us, "Jesus' lordship encompasses all of life."

In the journey of faith, we often find ourselves eagerly seeking to fulfill the Great Commission, to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth, just as Jesus commanded his disciples. However, in our fervor to carry out this mission, let us not overlook a crucial commandment given by our Lord Himself.
