Cambodia Celebrates Christmas, Encouraged by Meaning of Jesus' Birth
By the grace of God, following two weeks of intensive preparation, Christmas outreach events held in Phnom Penh New Hope Church on December 20th.
In both morning and evening, there were about adults and teens who attended the Christmas gathering, along with children who attended the gathering with their parents. The party included a time for praise, sermon, testimony and sharing, games and fellowship over meal.
During the gathering, Pastor Francis delivered a message about the meaning of Christmas by focusing on the themes of creation, sin and salvation of Jesus Christ. Every congregant was then encouraged to respond through a questionnaire consisting of two questions: 'What is your new understanding of Christmas through the message?' and 'Why did Jesus Christ come to this world', in addition to writing down their prayer topics.
Reflecting on the outreach activities, a minister shared, "Though the gathering was simple and warm, members grew a lot in faith through their involvement in preparing for the activities. More of our sinful habits were further cleansed through the process of preparation. We are truly thankful to God for His great grace towards us, all glory to Him."
