YEF Boosts Array of Mission Trips Around the World
Spending time helping strangers in a different culture and country may not only be a good memory but also can be a life-changing experience.
YEF international is boosting mission trips for strengthening networks between chapters and allowing the members to make unforgettable memories with God.
"YEF is challenging many young leaders to participate the mission trips because it is one of the ways to gain greater insight in their lives and to grow the passion for preaching the gospel." One leader in YEF shared, "There are thousands of people waiting for us to tell them about Gospel once again. As the Apostle John said in Revelations 10:11, the Gospel needs to be prophesized again."
Preeminent missiologist, Dr. Ralph D. Winter, founder of the U.S. Center for World Mission, said short-termers do not have much impact on missions, but can benefit personally in faith from the experience.
There is an array of mission trips being planned around the world. For example, YEF Korea is planning to have mission trip next year to Japan. Japan is where the population of Christians are less than 1%. The YEF chapter in Japan are also planning to visit Malaysia with members.
A YEF Japan leader, Ruth Lee, shared about the reason why she picked Malysia as a short term mission field. She said, "I believe it would be great opportunity to ignite the passion in members' heart, we can feel that the atmostphere is changing. Also there are many things we can still give our hands to help them."
