OA India Begins First Phase in Translation

India Bible Translation

OA India began its first phase of sermon translation from English to local vernacular, Tamil, this week.

The translation will focus on the theme "Faith". Messages of faith from the Old Testament and the New Testament which include the stories of the ancestors of faith, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph and various stories of faith from the Gospels will be part of the first phase.


"Having messages in the local language will break the communication barrier and assist the listener to understand the message as it is. When we deliver the Word in English, many listeners find difficulty in grasping. Though many of them study English at schools and colleges and can understand English, they use Tamil bible to study the Word," shared the editor.

"As we translate the messages of faith first, we hope to find people who can set up faith and commit their lives to work for God's kingdom," he added.
