Prayer for Ministry in Argentina

Argentina

Deep-seated problems are masked by recent economic and political progress. The nation emerged from its crises with a much wider gap between rich and poor. In the past, the nation prided itself on its egalitarian society, but now as many as 500,000 live in slums in and around Buenos Aires. Two pillars of Argentina, its strong middle class and education system, are under threat. Pray for the country's decision makers to focus beyond mere economic growth to assisting the most needy and building a solid foundation for the future.

Media ministries for prayer:

a) Literature. EHC, involved in house-by-house distribution since 1958, has covered the country twice. UBS oversees the distribution of literally millions of gospel portions, NTs and Bibles every year.

b) GRN. Recordings are available and have been distributed in 17 indigenous languages and in most immigrant/foreign languages.

c) Radio and television. Christians broadcast all across the country on FM radio stations. Both TWR and HCJB broadcast by satellite, shortwave and FM with coverage for much of the day. Indigenous languages enjoy over 100 hours per week, though no radio programmes in Guarani exist. Television is a growing medium with Christian programmes and stations increasing.

d) Other media. Pray for the Pastor's Council in Buenos Aires which has ambitious strategies to evangelize that megacity. The JESUS film, seen by a large proportion of the population, is available in seven indigenous languages. The Internet is used widely, with its great wealth of resources available in Spanish.

God’s Gift and Our Response: The Cycle of Grace, Gratitude, and Worship

The Christian faith is marked by a unique and profound rhythm: grace, gratitude, and praise. Scripture declares, "For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace" (John 1:16, ESV). This

Called to Make Disciples in All Nations

In His Great Commission, Jesus commands us to make disciples-not simply to inspire a single moment of conversion but to lead others into a committed, lifelong walk with Him. As Reformed theologian R.C. Sproul wisely reminds us, "Jesus' lordship encompasses all of life."

The Power Within: Embracing the Holy Spirit's Work

In the journey of faith, we often find ourselves eagerly seeking to fulfill the Great Commission, to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth, just as Jesus commanded his disciples. However, in our fervor to carry out this mission, let us not overlook a crucial commandment given by our Lord Himself.
